Photo by Gwen Halloween. Ghouls, specters, vampires, werewolves and candy – these are just a few words that sum up for most the jolly good vibe of All Saints’ Eve. For a special few, though, Halloween means a theme parties, costumes, beer and lots, and lots of music. For these special few, we’ve decided to compile a little mixtape, which should prove to be quite entertaining. How did pick the song? We’ll scary isn’t enough….
New Ryan Adams (with The Cardinals) video: ‘Fix It’ (live @ David Letterman)
Ryan Adams latest, tenth album, recorded with his long time collaborators The Cardinals, titled “Cardinology”, got out on shelves of record stores all over the country this week. It’s quite incredible how Ryan manages to spit out records after records in such a short time span. Sincerely, he would put most other songwriters to shame, but, like I’ve already said it before, I feel like he’s rushing things too much. This leads to half-baked stuff….
Download: Kanye West – ‘Robocop’
It seems Kanye’s goodie bag is getting ever loose, as another track off his new, November upcoming album, “808s and Heartbreak,” got leaked. “Robocop” is packed with robot-like samples, heavy beats crossed with harmonizing violins (right?) and, thank God, no rapping! Until now, 808s is forming up like a very good, solid installment to Kanye’s already impressive catalog. We’ll know once November 25th, the new album’s release date, finally arrives. New Coldplay video: ‘Lovers in Japan’
I really loved this year’s “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay, quite unexpectedly, actually. Lovers in Japan, the band’s latest single, is one of my favorite songs off new album, next to Lost and 42, thanks to its easy going, anthemic vibe. I’m really a sucker for these types of melodies. The video doesn’t come any shorter, either, with simple, colorful, visually stimulative frames, that makes the whole experience a lot more pleasant and relaxing. It…
Mastodon ‘crack the skye’ with new LP and tour details
The Atlantian prog metalists of Mastodon are growing ever closer to releasing their latest LP, under the fine production skills of Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine). , which now finally has a title: ‘Crack The Skye.’ I still haven’t had the chance to track down the etymology of the name, but what I know for sure is that it’s gonna be another concept album, this time, however, while the previous three…
New Beck video: ‘Gamma Ray’ (2nd version)
Back at this last summer’s dawn, we posted a blog post about, what was then, Beck’s first single and video off his most recent album, Modern Guilt, single called Gamma Ray. Apparently, the reminiscing neopshychedelia of the video was only a warm-up for this second version, just recently released, featuring Chloë Sevigny with some heavy make-up, the usual trippy effects, bonded together with a series of overall random stuff. New Scott Weiland video: ‘Paralyse’
After his recent, tumultuous ride with Velvet Revolver ended (for him, of course), Scott Weiland’s future became highly uncertain. He then eventually, and a bit surprisingly to be honest, got his old band, Stone Templer Pilots, back together and toured extensively, with a new album in the making being on the horizon, too. But for a man who’s ego’s hardly overthrown, not even by his own shadow, going solo is the best solution. “Happy In…

New Rivers Cuomo single/album + one of the most awesome album art ever!
Last year’s “Alone,” by Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo, was pretty awesome, of course, in a geekish, fun way. You know, it’s Weezer, more or less. Anyway, I was pretty much exited when I heard I will get the chance to hear some new, unreleased materials from Rivers this year, as he’ll be releasing a new solo compilation record in the form of “Alone II.” I’ve always loved compilations of unreleased tracks, B-sides or various band…
Hot Streaming: Guns ‘N’ Roses – ‘Chinese Democracy’
It’s official, folks! No bullshiting any more from behalf of Mr. Axl. He’s lived up to his word and delivered, “Chinese Democracy,” Guns ‘N’ Roses’ first single in almost ten years, to the airwaves and interwebs yesterday, on October 22. How’s the song you ask? It’s OK. For a single that’s been expected with high anticipation by million of fans all over the world, it’s a bit disappointing. For those of you who’ve downloaded the…
