“Toronto’s evil supergroup” has their familiarly known in their icy homelands of Canada, Holy Fuck has recently come to our attention with a mind blowing animated music video, for their lo-fi electro infused “Milkshake.” Video director’s take, Chad Van Gaalen, is a surreal world of constant shape shifting and morphing. Hungry underwater raccoons, cheesburger eating clams, walking plants, a cameo of a nude woman giving birth and a whole lot of other bizarre things, often make you wanna go “Holy F*ck!” Milkshake is off HF’s forthcoming “LP,” out on 10/23.

Got up earlier then usual this morning, but the sudden lack of sleep has been complemented by the explosion of energy with which “In Rainbows” hit me. I received [tag]Radiohead[/tag]’s latest gem in my mailbox at around 6 AM, for a fair fee (??$), and was immediately hooked by the 10 track marvel. Although most of you received the album for free, it seems to come at a price: audio quality. “THE ALBUM WILL COME AS A 48.4MB ZIP FILE CONTAINING 10 X 160KBPS DRM FREE MP3s” - that’s what the official order email states. Although this may seem quite low for those of us who look for the best audio quality in our mp3s, It doesn’t spoils the magic of “In Rainbows” in any way. If you want to experience the LP in it’s true splendor, you may want to wait for the release of the disc box in December, or CD at the beginning of 2008.

The [tag]Depeche Mode[/tag] frontman sophomore release, Hourglass, is fast approaching and as a teaser for things to come Dave has released yet another single. After the first melancholic synth infused single from Gahan’s new album, “Kingdom,” it’s time for a more thrilling track and “Deeper and Deeper” does well to lighten up the mood. It’s sound reminisces the golden years of Depeche Mode, same aggressive sampling  and excellent synthesizers toped by what seems somewhat Dave Gahan explicit lyrics. Always been a fan of [tag]Bloc Party[/tag] from the moment Silent Alarm hit the air waves back in 2005; got me instantly hooked. Yesterday I just got news that they’ll soon release a new single, called “Flux”, and apparently it didn’t take it too long to surface on the web. The song’s brand new, hasn’t been featured on any albums, just live shows. It’s actually a bit different from what BC accustomed us along the years, with synths and electronic instruments. The single will be released on November 12 and will soon be joined by a video.

This is fucking massive gents! Not only did [tag]Radiohead[/tag] announce the tracklist and the title for their upcoming seventh album, but they shocked everyone by releasing it on such short notice, that means that starting from October 10 you can experience its magic. Here’s the spark that light the world on fire yesterday, a blogpost on the band’s Dead Air Space.

Daniel Snaith and his synth pop project [tag]Caribou[/tag] are set to kick off their North American tour, this very night (28 September). The tour will see Dan and co. playing through out Canda and the states every day for two months, until they reach Daniel’s hometown of Toronto, Canada.

Also Caribous, during gigs, have been selling their latest “2007 Tour EP,” featuring a 30 minute epic mix by Daniel and 6 exclusive tracks. Tracklist for Tour EP and North American trek dates after the jump.

[tag]PJ Harvey[/tag] is undoubtedly one of my favorite contemporary female vocalists, her  unpredictable vocals have always been a mystery to me. Her voice can switch from intimacy to anger as if on a hair trigger, a quality or better yet gift few artists posses and master. Now after 15 years of experience in the music industry Polly Jean released her eighth album this week, called White Chalk, in which she ditched her trademark guitar for quiet and beautiful piano, thus providing some much needed space for her falsettos. She’s an artists that hates to repeat herself and is always on the lookout for new and extraordinary themes. That lead to eight remarkably different, but at the same time familiar LP’s, thanks to PJ’s unique view and femininity, found in all her albums.

“The Devil” is, in my book, the best track of “White Chalk” a testament to PJ’s incredible voice. Starting with a thrilling piano line, then slowing down for a string of falsetto, before bursting in a explosive chorus, after which it plunges into darkness. Perfection.

Toping the trance charts with this summer’s hit album In Between, the world renowned DJ Paul van Dyk has added a few more North American dates  to his album supporting tour, that began back in August.  If you don’t have the chance to see the recently #1 DJ, voted by the DJ Mag readers, live, then you can have a sip of the maestro by streaming “In Between” on his MySpace. Born in the never ending lights of Las Vegas and raised in the spirit of punk ruck, Francis Harris or better known by his stage name Adultnapper, proves that sometimes life grants us unexpected twists. In the case of Adultnapper, he went from hatting all that dance music represented, to now being a very well sought DJ/Producer by all the people in the Industry. Last month Harris released his first single, in a string of four singles that will comprise his upcoming EP, called “Maxwell’s Demon“, which was very well received. Now his second single “Tewa” is up and running, following in the same darker path, with a really thick bass and psychedelic vibe.

Here’s a little gem to take home, a track close to my heart from one of my favorite electro bands LCD Soundsystems, covering one my favorite ’70s artists Harry Nilsson. “Down Into The Fire“, the B side from the Daft Punk Is Playing At My House single, is one of those songs that makes you feel like you’re there with the band, alongside it, rocking your socks out, a real moment of magic. All the mixt feelings you can experience when you’re listing to Down Into The Fire, are fueled by the extreme energy it emanates; part due to the high rhythm beats, nifty riffs, and over all feel good vibe, but mostly due to James Murphy’s extraordinary vocals. He really knows how to bring the house down.
