Above is a mainstream aspiring English indie pop band with a touch of alternative, that auto-describes itself as “Coldplay on steroids, American rock with a sense of irony and you’re halfway there”. Well if that was a little bit confusing that have a go on their latest single ‘At Arms Length’, available at iTunes, a thrilling and passionate song. The song openes with a slow and melancholic piano line, backed up by smooth guitar chops, on top of which frontman Karl Harrison powerful and commanding voice unleash powerful vocal notes, resembling the likes of Funeral For A Friend. As the song progresses the subtle guitar chords turn to veritable solo riffs, of massive intensity, before the the song’s epic closure. Check out the band’s MySpace for more streaming.
