Ringo Starr signs download deal

The ex-Beatle has signed a deal to release his Capitol/EMI catalogue as downloads on the internet, including his hit 1970 album “Beaucoups of Blues” and “Ringo” from 1973, his publicist said in a statement Sunday. The last thing we could expect from the band member. The oldest band member as a fact.

The downloads will be available Aug. 28. They also include “Photograph: The Very Best of Ringo Starr.” The best-of collection features tracks like “It Don’t Come Easy” and “Sentimental Journey,” and it will also be released on CD.

The Beatles catalogue remains unavailable for downloading but former Fab Four bandmate Paul McCartney released his 21st solo album, “Memory Almost Full,” on June 5 and Ringo Starr also has an album; “Liverpool 8,” is planned for a January 2008 release.

The first solo launched by Starr after the Beatles broke up was with Capitol/EMI, from 1970 to 1975. This goes to prove that half a lifetime after that the man is able to play music. The weird thing is that Six Ringo Starr ringtones will also be offered. Would be interesting to know what the guys of the band who are deceased would think about Ringo Starr ringtones. What a world.
