Interrobanger UNITED STATES Says, in 10-19-2007 at 11:52:11

Funny thing is, even if they end up losing money, the credit card companies will nonetheless make a killing — unless everyone pays zero, which they’re not. (I paid.)

That 45p is a fee known to anyone with a merchant credit card account. It’s called the interchange fee and it’s very controversial in retail circles. I work for a merchant group on the issue, or I might never have heard about it.

And I’m glad Radiohead went this route, because even if they couldn’t stick it to the card-issuing banks as well, they have at least drawn some attention to it.
