Daniel Snaith (read Caribou) return with a fantastic effort last year, when he unveiled his paradisaical Andorra (no, not the financial paradise). “Irene” was one of my favorite tracks from it, so you can imagine the joy when I first set eyes on the video a few hours ago. Speaking of the video, it centeres the song’s vibe and ideas perfectly, featuring calming and serene footages of nature, sleepy animals, lazy insects and still waters over an early sunset. Surreal!
