Massive Attack’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, “Heligoland“, is slated for an official worldwide release next week, and while it is reasonably spaced away, today I’ve found out about a very scrumptious appetizer. Over at facebook, the service is streaming the British duo’s Helligoland Remix EP, a six track compilation featuring rehashes by Gui Boratto, She is Danger, Ryuichi Sakamoto & Yukihiro Takahashi, Breakage and Tim Goldsworthy. In order to stream the songs, you’ll need a facebook account (who doesn’t nowadays) and fan their page.
The five years in the making Heligoland LP will be out on February 8th via Virgin Records. Check out the Toby Dye directed video for Massive Attack’s “Paradise Circus” bellow, featuring erotic icon Hope Sandoval both at the respectable age she’s now reached, as well as footage from her ‘heyday’. That’s not Hope Sandoval in the video, you idiot! It’s Georgina Spelvin from ‘The Devil in Miss Jones’ and other 1970s porn films. Hope Sandoval, the languid vocalist from Mazzy Star who sings on the track ‘Paradise Circus’, is notoriously shy and retiring. The idea of her appearing in a skin flick is just hilarious.
