Today’s dose of new music is provided by Martin Longstaff (A.K.A The Lake Poets), hailing from Sunderland, UK.

In the first of a series of live collaborations curated by Generator (an organisation which focuses on artist development and supporting new found musicians), brooding singer/songwriter The Lake Poets has teamed up with fellow North-East music scene cohort Ajimal for a unique performance of his track ‘Edinburgh’ (released as a b-side to the single ‘Rain’ via the DIY label Tiny Lights Recordings in December last year).

Combining the miserable yet mesmerising brand of minimalist folk music typical of The Lake Poets, with the intricate and uplifting spin of delicate pop added by Ajimal, has resulted in an extremely special performance of the incredibly heartfelt and honest track. The term ‘heart in your mouth’ springs to mind.
