Matt Cross, a young singer-songwriter from Essex, is certainly one to watch over the next few months. With a fantastic debut EP under his belt and an equally catchy new single to follow, he’s fast becoming one of the most exciting new artists I’ve discovered in quite some time.
His new song, ‘You Said You Needed Time’, is a driving little tune with some great riffs and mean guitar tones.
He’s yet to debut his full-band live show but I for one am eagerly awaiting his announcement to do so.
With frequent plays on BBC Introducing radio stations and features on a number of blogs, his following is slowly but surely growing by the day.
You can check out his tracks on here: https://soundcloud.com/matthewcross or on Spotify and both of his releases are available to buy on iTunes and Bandcamp. He’s also done a very limited run of hard copies of his Debut EP, ‘Better Late Than Never’ which you can find here: https://mattcross.bandcamp.com/album/better-late-than-never-ep
As well as having 5 fantastic tunes, that EP has one of the most beautiful and unusual covers I’ve seen in a long time, by London artist Kim Bennett.
