Documentary maker Dave Markey has uploaded the footage he shot in December 1993 at Los Angeles’ Great Western Forum – one of the last concerts Nirvana performed. Four months later, Cobain would take his own life. The footage, which you can watch above, includes performances of ‘All Apologies’ and a cover of David Bowie’s ‘The Man Who Sold The World’. Writing about the footage, Markey says: “20 years ago tonight (December 30, 1993) I stood…

Dave Grohl: ‘New Nirvana Will F–king Happen’

Now now, don’t get your hopes up – this isn’t about Nirvana reuniting or something like this – it’s about another band with a Nirvana-like impact. “We meant a lot of different things to a lot of different people,” he told the Guardian. “That’s one of the great things about music. You can sing a song to 85,000 people and they’ll sing it back for 85,000 different reasons.” Dave Grohl went further, explaining that the…

Pearl Jam to release new single in July

In the words of guitarist Stone Gossard, the new album is “almost done” – so we really should be expecting something from them. However, things are a little shady, because the release was announced on All Access, but then was deleted, but one thing’s for sure: Pearl Jam’s definitely cooking something. If it does show up in July, then it will be the band’s first release since the 2011 “Ole”. According to recent statements from…

Incubus Guitarist Working on Pearl Jam Album

Incubus guitarist Michael Einziger has revealed that he is working on the new Pearl Jam album. We found this out (how else ?) from his twitter, where he posted: “In the studio with my girl and Eddie Vedder, recording strings for Pearl Jam’s new album.” I’m really curious about this Pearl Jam album, apparently it will be a little different than what they’ve done. Guitarist Mike McCready has described it as a cross between punk…

Alice in Chains finish recording new album

Three years after the shockingly good return – “Black Gives Way To Blue” – it’s only about time we got some new work about new Alice in Chains material. Reports have been scarce throughout the entire year. Jerry Cantrell shared a few words regarding the band’s new LP.
