He was arrested early Sunday after a brawl at a restaurant and spent about 12 hours in jail before being released, police said. He stopped at the Waffle House restaurant shortly after 5 a.m. after his performance at The Tabernacle in Atlanta, authorities said.

“He and five members of his entourage were involved in a fight with a male customer inside the Waffle House,” said Mekka Parish, a spokeswoman for the DeKalb County Police Department. “It escalated to a physical altercation between Kid Rock and that male customer and moved outside to the parking lot,” she said. At some point the customer punched out a restaurant window, she said.

He and five members of his entourage were taken into custody on a misdemeanour charge of simple battery. The other customer was charged and Kid Rock was released from the county jail on bond about 5 p.m.

Others are going to sing there but they are the headline. The concert is going to be Dec. 11 and other artists are Earth Wind and Fire, Colombian singer Juanes and Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, organizers told The Associated Press.

The concert promises to be very good.

The drummer says that “We were bouncing back our experiences in making albums and touring, most of that period was difficult and frustrating,” talking about the band’s early days it was natural for them to gravitate towards darker-sounding music and lyrics.

They spent most of the mid-1990s trying to carve out a place for themselves in mainstream music. The band broke into the mainstream in 2001 after recording Bleed America, (re titled Jimmy Eat World after the Sept. 11 attacks), the album went platinum. The band worked with famed rock producer Butch Vig (producer for Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and member of Garbage) on Chase This Light so their release sounds worth listening to.

There is a lot of interest around record labels these days and there are bands like Radiohead and Oasis which are trying to shift the balance of power. They are trying to move the power from the record labels to the people. But aside from that there is also a shift of power inside record labels.

Madonna’s deal to abandon Warner Music for concert promoter Live Nation signals more than just a tectonic shift in the music distribution business. The core benefit to Live Nation of the $120-million recording and touring contract with the pop superstar is the opportunity to tap into concert, recording, merchandising and other lucrative revenue streams. But don’t discount the role that lowly ticket fees play.

He was known as lead guitarist for legendary hard-rock act Guns ‘N Roses and his drinking is somewhat legendary. He is 42 and a father of two and he says that he came of age in a pre-Internet, pre-camera-phone era — one where entertainers were still entitled to a modicum of privacy.

But technology is at growing fast and there is a lot of gossip around the most intimate details of a rocker’s life. The distantce between the internet user and those things is measured in clicks. And there are not that many clicks; and while his hard-partying Guns ‘N Roses days are long behind him, Slash has been making the rounds with a brand new band in recent years: rock supergroup Velvet Revolver. Band members are fellow former Gunners Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, ex-Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland, and Wasted Youth guitarist Dave Kushner.

Looks like Radiohead’s latest independent approach to album promotion and sales, basically giving away their latest LP for how much you see fit, has sparked a wave a of revolution amongst the influential bands in the industry. Yesterday it was time for Trent Reznor and NIN to join in, after terminating their contract with their label and announcing “some exciting times for 2008.” Today we’ve found out that Oasis, curently unsigned to any label, are considering following the same golden path as Radiohead and release future albums in the same manner.

Things are not looking any better in Myanmar and a solution without help from the outside seems unlikely. But there are people who care about what the situation is outside of LA and other big cities.

bono says he had “slept uneasily” since seeing extraordinary photos and TV footage of the violence in Myanmar. After a month of mostly peaceful demonstrations against Myanmar’s military government the militaries opened fire and a big part of the Buddhist monks was beat.

“It is extraordinary to see the Buddhist monks, isn’t it? Their nonviolence may, I pray, win out over the ugliness of the situation,” the U2 frontman said at the London premiere of the new movie “Across the Universe.”. “There is jeopardy. I slept uneasily last night, and I’m sure everyone else that watched did, too,” he said. “How far are they going to have to go?”. He said that everyone should offer their support to the Burmese people.

The singer stated that he had met and corresponded with Aung San Suu Kyi, the pro-democracy leader of Myanmar’s opposition National League for Democracy Party. He said that the band had written a song about her.

The Starbucks Corp. plans to give away 50 million free digital songs to the customers as a way of promoting a new wireless iTunes music service that’s about to debut in some markets. From Oct. 2 to Nov. 7 they will hand out about 1.5 million “Song of the Day” cards each day. The cards can be redeemed at Apple Inc.’s online iTunes Store. They will start selling iTunes digital release cards that allow a full album of music and bonus material to be downloaded online. “Drastic Fantastic” by KT Tunstall and soundtrack to the film “Into the Wild” with new music from the Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will be the first two featured albums.

There are going to be numerous singers. Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon yesterday ordered both Spears and Federline to complete a “parenting without conflict” programme and to stop making derogatory comments about each other. The children have no fault in this and it is sad for them. Growing up and receiving a good education is probably less important for the singer than going out and partying.
