AC/DC : Plug Me In (2 DVD set) (2007)

This is probably the most electrifying rock band in the world. From 1975 the band has made music and in a way that few rock bands can say they have. [tag]AC/DC[/tag] has produced stadium-class head-bangers for over 20 years which were centered around Angus Young’s searing guitar licks and riffs.

They have released this 2DVD set which contains over 5 hours of rare and unreleased LIVE video from AC/DC. It spans the entirety of their career and covers the Bon Scott and Bryan Johnston eras and it is a history of the band; it has their first U.K. television appearance but it has performances from their latter-day. “AC/DC has delivered the most dynamic rock and roll music in the world,” said Steve Barnett, Chairman, Columbia Records. “Columbia is honored to be releasing this definitive career-spanning retrospective featuring many of AC/DC’s finest filmed performances. “. It transcends the test of time.

It starts with 1975 and original singer Bon Scott with the band’s first appearance on TV and then you get two never-before-seen shows from 1976 show at Sydney’s St. Alban’s High School; it includes the very first public performance of Highway To Hell. Bonus is the Bon Scott interview from November 1977 and other interviews. DVD 2 picks up in Tokyo, with Brian Johnson at the mic. After Bon Scott’s sad and tragic death the band members were able to get themselves together. “Back In Black” shows just how he is missed to this day. Disc Two shows the band’s second great epoch: the Brian Johnson era; it has over 20 performances drawn from three decades of concerts around the world and incredible footage from 1996’s “Ballbreaker” tour (including the “Beavis & Butthead” intro); bonus is the AC/DC Donnington interview and their “Rock Me Baby” with THE ROLLING STONES.

This is a must have for rock listeners of every age. They were formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973 by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young but their music is listened in every corner of the world; they have sold 70 million albums just in the U.S. which means they are in the top five best-selling bands in American music history. The Back In Black album has achieved RIAA double diamond status, for sales in excess of 21 million copies in the United States, and is the U.S.’s fifth largest-selling album ever. But the spirit they created and the impulse they gave to rock music and their legacy is more important. They lit up a flame that burns and it is not going to cease burning.
