Panic at the Disco lose the exclamation point and announces new LP name

Over complicated band names are every blogger’s nightmare and all I can say is a lot of people will be glad, that the Vegas quartet have decided to change their name. Well not entirely that is, just that messy exclamation point, that seems to cause a lot of trouble amongst press people, so the band’s name is just “Panic at the Disco” now. Oh and if you though one “!” is bad then check out…

Foo Fighters: ‘Long Road To Ruin’ (alternate version)

I’ve always had loads of fun with [tag]Foo Fighters[/tag]’ videos, packed with a lot of humor, next to some hard rocking. The initial video for “Long Road To Ruin,” was no exception, managing to crack me up on each play. I guess there’s something about Dave Grohl, that make the Foos video magic and funny as hell. Anyway the fun train hasn’t stopped yet and a alternate version of the video was posted recently, this…

After becoming a four piece band once more, after Devin Hoff joined on bass in May, [tag]Xiu Xiu[/tag] are set to show the world, well just North America really, what the new lineup is capable of.  With that in mind the band has mapped a string of shows in the US and Canada, that can be viewed right after  the jump. The Gutter Twins: ‘Idle Hands’ (stream)

A lot of rumors floated around last year that, alt-rock legends of the 90’s Mark Lanegan and Greg Dulli would join forces and form a new band. Previous collaborations between each of the two’s musical projects, made it very likely and back in September 2007, the two announces that they’ve completed recording their debut album, under the moniker of The Gutter Twins. “Idle Hands” is the group’s first single and it sure does sound sweet,…

Radiohead announces North American tour

After releasing a set of European tour dates, now [tag]Radiohead[/tag] have sorta/kinda announced some North American locations, but no venues, no dates, just 22 mapped  US and Canadian cities. At least you know where to expect them. Meanwhile In Rainbows sits well on the #1 of the Billboard 200, with 122,00 units sold in it’s second week, after a more weak first week (timing didn’t help). Radiohead is set to perform the North American tour,…

Here’s another opportunity to crack myself up, as [tag]Nick Cave[/tag]’s back with some new updates on “Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!” (just love the title) This time Nick and The Bad Seeds have released the video for this ‘epic’ song, that depicts the modern day interpolation of the biblical Lazarus resurrection. Download: Kate Tucker and the Sons of Sweden – ‘In The End’

In a previous edition of our MP3 freebies I posted a song that really touched me and that proved to be a true on repeat by [tag]Kate Tucker[/tag] & the Sons of Sweden, namely the slow motioned soundtrack of Faster Then Cars. This time I’d like to put to your attention a song of at least similar beauty and musical craftsmanship, called “In The End.” The track revolves around Kate’s mellow falsettos, with a laid…

Xiu Xiu: ‘Women As Lovers’ (album stream)

San Francisco’s favorite experimental indie band, [tag]Xiu Xiu[/tag], are just a few weeks away from the release of their sixth album “Women As Lovers.” As a unexpected teasers, they decide to stream the whole thing down at the band’s MySpace page. We gave it a few repeated listens, actually it’s on the background as I type, and so far it’s shaping up as a really solid effort. Need more listens to form a opinion for…

Robin Black back in studio

The glam rock singer goes back in the studio with long-time collaborator and producer Moe Berg, working on material. His last show was with his eponymously-named band on Halloween of 2006. It seems he has been training six hours a day to become a bantam weight cage fighter, something that requires enormous dedication and a lifestyle change. That itself is something amazing but it seems he has found time to record music as well. “The…
