Wednesday smilejerker: Bono’s an evil bastard!

Now don’t get ahead of yourself there! We all know Bono made some admirable charity acts and we give him praise for that. But sometimes, even the best of us have to suffer! Here’s what happened in one of their shows:
At a recent U2 concert in Glasgow, Scotland, he asked the audience for total quiet.
Then, in the silence, he started to slowly clap his hands, once every few seconds. Holding the audience in total silence, he said into the microphone, “Every time I clap my hands, a child in Africa dies.”
From the front of the crowd a voice with a broad Scottish accent pierced the quiet …
“Well, fuckin stop doin it then, ya evil bastard!”

Why the hell would someone say something so depressing in the middle of a concert? It’s no mystery that atrocities are happening in the world. People go to concerts to escape from reality for a short while, and this douchebag ruins it for thousands. Give them a few hours of guilt-free happiness, they paid to go to your shitty concert. If Bono cares so damn much, why doesn’t he take his fortune to Africa and go make a REAL difference instead of singing “Vertigo” in a sparkly suit?

i thought it was funny… oh, and chrissy… how about getting your head out of your ass. if you knew anything… you would know Bono DOES help with the people in africa. infact he spends allot of time there helping last i heard.

Yes he spends lot of time, money on the other hand he keeps to himself. Did you know about flying the hat first class? That’s money well spent.

That’s an Urban Myth. I heard the same story about george clooney at the live8 concert. I’m no Bono fanatic but fair’s fair.

Its great that he’s so socially aware, they payed to go see Bono. Everyone knows that he pats himself on the back for his charity work more than anyone else does. However, he uses his fame to help others and that is a great thing.
However, this is morbidly funny… I couldn’t help but to laugh.
