Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (/ËstÉfÉniË dÊÉrmÉËnÉtÉ/ STE-fÉ-nee jÉr-mÉ-NOT-É; born March 28, 1986), known by her stage name Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, activist, businesswoman, fashion designer and actress. Born and raised in New York City, she primarily studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and briefly attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts before withdrawing to focus on her musical career. She soon began performing in the rock music scene of Manhattan's Lower East Side. By the end of 2007, record executive and producer Vincent Herbert signed her to his label Streamline Records, an imprint of Interscope Records. Initially working as a songwriter at Interscope Records, her vocal abilities captured the attention of recording artist Akon, who also signed her to Kon Live Distribution, his own label under Interscope.

Frankie Poullain from The Darkness was caught in a Chile airport carrying an apple, which he had traveled with. Apparently, this is quite a big deal for airport folks, so the guard there actually wanted to call the cops and give him a big fine – until he found out the guard’s a Lady Gaga [...]
During a performance in St. Paul, Minn, Madonna told the crowd: You know, I invited her onstage to sing with me. But, she turned me down. It’s OK. I’ve been rejected before. It builds a little character. All I can say now, is that, I can really understand Lady Gaga, who wants to kiss an old [...]
Lady Gaga finally released her collaboration with rapper and buddy Kendrick Lamar: “Bitch don’t kill my vibe“. Lamar wanted the track to be on his debut good kid, m.A.A.d. city, which is doing really good, but it didn’t work out. Gaga wanted to work with him, but the managers and the team were really working [...]
Scientists from Duke University decided to name new 19 species of ferns after Lady Gaga. Hilarious, if you ask me, I don’t know what’s going on with scientists these days but I think they’ve gone a little gaga. The biologist Kathleen Pryer and her team discovered a new genus of fern, and observing the similarities [...]
It’s about time something like this happened. She really thinks that she can wear something like a dress made entirely of meat, and then show off with her new little doggy and act like a really peaceful and caring person. I don’t think that the guys from the rap/rave band Die Antwoord had that in mind [...]
Last Friday, Lady Gaga, now 26, posted on her facebook page a picture with a tiny tattoo on her wrist, that seems to represent her next album’s name, which is: “ARTPOP”. She specifies, in a twitter post, that she wants “ARTPOP” to be written with capitals : make sure when writing about my new album/project [...]
What’s that old adage? “When you assume, you make an ass out of you and me.” Yeah, well in this case, my assumption didn’t hurt anyone. In hindsight, it was a tad lazy – and perhaps made an ass outta me – but certainly not harmful in any way. Here’s the thing: I got an [...]
Billboard announced a new rule about SoundScan counts: if your album is sold for under $3.49, it doesn’t get counted toward your Billboard ranking. Everyone seems to be assuming that this has something to do with the 2-day, 99 cent sale of Lady GaGa’s latest, Born This Way, which went platinum in a week. Critics [...]
From the beginning, it was extremely clear that Lady Gaga was a unique addition to the music world; what wasn’t clear was if there was any talent behind the crazy costumes and makeup. I was one of the many people who believed that her fame was only due to her over the top demeanor. The club beats [...]
