New St. Vincent Video: ‘Marrow’

It seems like my bitching was heard or something (start a blog too, people. Who knows who might hear your whining and do something about it. Just kidding – don’t mind me). Either way, a few months ago I was feeling a bit dishearten about the straightforward approach St. Vincent received for her video of Actor Out Of Work, but in this latest music video for the cascading “Marrow” it’s all the other way around….

Muse live on Later with Jools Holland – ‘Uprising’ and ‘United States of Eurasia’

The new Muse album, “Resistance,” is out this week, and consequently expect to see the band all over TV and on tour (hopefully!). They’re latest appearance was on Jools Holland’s Later, where they played, accompanied by an orchestra, two feature tracks off the new record, “Uprising” and “United States of Eurasia.” Great show! New Phoenix video: ‘1901’ (live @ Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien)

It’s been an incredible year for the French quartet Phoenix, having released the amazing “Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix”, that’s sure to get feature in most people’s year end best of lists, and toured  much of Europe and North America almost relentlessly. Last night, the band paid Conan a visit when they were invited to play their hit single “1901” at the end of the Tonight Show. The performance was, as expected, flawless, but a bit boring…

The most amazing indie music video you’ll see in a long time [?]

I just stumbled across this incredibly magical video a few minutes ago over the web and I just can’t stop watching it over and over and over again! Ok, I’ve left you a bit in the mist, and I apologize for it. To be more explicit, I’m talking abut the music video for “Thurso” by Glasgow indie band Over The Wall. The song itself, although very soothing and melodic, is far from being anything mind…

New Grizzly Bear video: ‘While You Wait For The Others’

Here’s something special to kick off the day, if you’re into fencing that is. Either way, you’ll most likely love Grizzly Bear’s recently released video for their smashing single “While You Wait For The Others” directed by Sean Peknold. Abstract imagery, packed with wacky animations and after effects  make quite the fun view as well, as opposed to the more mellow and somewhat creepy video for Two Weeks. Enjoy! Off Grizzly Bear’s most recent album…

New Los Campesinos video: ‘The Sea Is a Good Place to Think of the Future’

We all understand we’re living in though times with the recession being in full swing and all, but boy is this video low budget. No, I mean really low budget, even for a indie label. I can understand that the producers were going for a spontaneous, fan made-like take on the song, but the end result is really dreadful. It’s just about a bunch of people, let’s call them friends, gathered around the beach, having…

New The Bicycles video: ‘What A Fool’

Bubblegum power pop isn’t exactly everybody’s favorite cup of tea, but you’ve gotta admit there’s something terribly fun about bubbly ballads, catchy loops and … The Bicycles. The way too short or way too long “What A Fool,” whichever of the two you believe, is a perfect example of the band’s carefree music. The video’s geeky technique is well damn hilarious, too! Off The Bicycles’ last year sophomore release “Oh No, It’s Love.”

Radiohead play ‘These Twisted Words’ live

Last week Radiohead revealed a new, non-LP, non-EP track called “These Twisted Words.” “We’ve been recording for a while, and this was one of the first we finished. We’re pretty proud of it. There’s other stuff in various states of completion, but this is one we’ve been practicing, and which we’ll probably play at this summer’s concerts. Hope you like it,” said Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead. We really like it, Jonny, but no one expected…

New The Walkmen video: ‘On The Water’

Directed by Nir Ben Jacob, The Walkmen’s latest video for the troubling “On The Water” starts innocent enough, featuring close ups with two really lovely bunnies, despite the CGI environment. Pitch black and stormy skies don’t foretell anything but trouble though, and the video gets a turn for the worst. The animation, although not by far breath taking or anything, does very well to capture emotions, like fear, anxiety or sadness. Pretty good for a…
