Ryan Adams writes about video games in recent column

I for one am impressed of Mr. Adams’ recent long run blogging stint for The Awl where he just made his debut at as a columnist. It’s hard not to laugh out loud while reading his piece, as Danzing gets slipped through video game consoles, space invaders and intolerable amounts of late pizza. Speaking of video games, who knew Adams was such a dork? I mean, the man really knows his video game history, and,…

Radiohead play ‘These Twisted Words’ live

Last week Radiohead revealed a new, non-LP, non-EP track called “These Twisted Words.” “We’ve been recording for a while, and this was one of the first we finished. We’re pretty proud of it. There’s other stuff in various states of completion, but this is one we’ve been practicing, and which we’ll probably play at this summer’s concerts. Hope you like it,” said Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead. We really like it, Jonny, but no one expected…

New The Walkmen video: ‘On The Water’

Directed by Nir Ben Jacob, The Walkmen’s latest video for the troubling “On The Water” starts innocent enough, featuring close ups with two really lovely bunnies, despite the CGI environment. Pitch black and stormy skies don’t foretell anything but trouble though, and the video gets a turn for the worst. The animation, although not by far breath taking or anything, does very well to capture emotions, like fear, anxiety or sadness. Pretty good for a…

Nick Cave – The Death of Bunny Munro

After all of Nick Cave’s  success performing with The Bad Seeds, creating spellbinding soundtracks with Warren Ellis and composing screenplays, the Australian cult icon has now turned to the written word, and is being tipped to deliver yet another artistic triumph. Cave’s new novel, ‘The Death of Bunny Munro’, is a menacingly graphic account of a depraved and sex-crazed door-to-door salesman, who also happens to reside in the author’s current home of Brighton, England. Fans…

Guitar God Les Paul ascends to a better realm

Yesterday was a sad, sad day for music. Electric guitar virtuoso and inventor Les Paul died, at the epic age of 94. It was him who you can call the father of the solid body electric guitar, as well as multitrack recording. His blazing riffs were absolutely the bomb and he performed with some of the biggest stars ever, also produced a lot of hits, but it was the inventions that made him the revered…

I want the new Wolfmother record NOW!

Band officials just recenly unveiled the cover art for Wolfmother’s upcoming “Cosmic Egg.” “That’s a darn big ass egg alright”, says the stoked young boy in the bushes, staring enigmatically. In the land down under, however, nothing is surprising anymore. Enough with the comic eggs though, I want heavy and mind blowing cosmic jams! I’ve been pretty anxious about the new album ever since I heard Wolfmother’s new single “Back Round” when we featured it…

New The Big Pink video: ‘Dominos’

“Dominos,” the latest single signed by NME’s recent best up and going act The Big Pink makes an incredibly catchy tune, filled with hypnotic synths and a steady beat, as the hook packed chorus gets unleashed. The video, just recently released, is a bit stale compared to the song’s lively vibe. Just the band in a foggy, mysterious-like scenery, wacking the hell out of drum kits and players, while icy statutes break. Not exactly like…
