Post filled in: New Music Monday
One of my favorite electronica group, the duo of Goldfrapp are releasing their forth studio effort, titled “Seventh Tree;” a record that’s somewhat strayed a bit from their more conventional work, but in my opinion, in a better direction. It’s more soulful and alive, qualities that will definitely enlarge their already packed fan base tenfold. Having stayed, almost all of her professional life, in the shadow of his iconic brother, Janet Jackson will also release a new album this week in the form of “Discipline.” Interesting to see if this is gonna be just another mediocre follow-up or if she’ll actually step out of the penumbra.
Another interesting release is “Another Country,” by alt-country star Tift Merritt. Other notable releases include new albums from the likes of Punch Brothers, Beach House or Cowboy Junkies.
