Bad boy gone good, country/folk/rock/whatever star Ryan Adams has just recently announced the details concerning his upcoming autumn North American tour, but this after he’ll have a short series of gigs in New Zealand and Australia. Ry will be joined by his band The Cardinals on the tour that will see him and co. play across North America, supporting Ry’s latest LP Easy Tiger, on such venus as: NY, Milwaukee, Birmingham, Chicago or Madison.

Last week we had a little discussion about Devendra Banhart’s latest video, the 8 minute epic Seahorse. Now the song has been chosen as the official promo for Devendra’s upcoming LP, “Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon“, set for September 25, and has been released for free sampling by XL Records.

New York based three-piece Liars are only a few weeks away from releasing their forth LP, the selftitled “Liars”, which has been getting a lot hype around it lately. The band will embark on a album promotion tour, shortly after the albums release, on August 28, hand in hand with their mates from Interpol. The tour will see Liars and Interpol perform in locations all across America, from NY’s Madison Square Garden to LA’s The forum. ‘An End Has A Start‘ is the selftitle track of Editors newest album, the second single after ‘Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors‘. The single will be out on September 3, and will include the b-side “Open Up” as well, which you may recognize it as the bonus track off the Japanese album edition. The song has a classic Editors sound and vibe, with the trademark exploding guitar wall and Tom Smith commanding vocals. As for the video,I find it a bit out of place with the songs theme, or I may be too small minded to figure it out. Basically it features the band playing a empty warehouse, with a dozen or so hot girls, around them, dressed in multi-colored tights and eye makeup doing aerobics on the song.

I’ve been recently digging Kentucky noise rock duo Magik Markers ( Elisa Ambrogio, Pete Nolan), a band that sounds super primitive, with super groovy free rock, a lot of supers anyway. What i most like about them is their keen sense of improvisation, often jamming on the spot on gigs. If your interested their debut album, in this formation, “BOSS” will be out on September 25, in the US. The leading track off BOSS, is undoubtedly “Taste”, a song in which Elisa Ambrogio commanding voice and Pete Nolan’s serious drumming intertwine very well and materialize in a fairly unique material.

Yup, you’ve heard it right. A new computer virus has been discovered by Sophos security company that spreads with the help of USB flash drives, infects your computer and deletes all your MP3 files on the hard-drive. A real threat for all music lovers, like myself, that would be devastated by the loss, i know i would; i have over 100 GB of music, not counting the full box of DVDs.

Here’s another peek on Rilo Kiley’s upcoming forth album “Under The Blacklight“, a very promising LP from what I’ve had the chance to sample. “Silver Lining” is the title of the second track, after the extremely sexy “Moneymaker“, that Rilo Kiley has been gracious enough to share with ous, before the release of the sexiest album ever (?), on August 20.  The song is loads of fun and extremely catchy, with ‘60 feel and beat and a country/folk like guitar line, I’m a really sucker for retro.

If you recall, in a previous post, we talked about a video making contest for Björk’s newest single ‘Innocence’. Bjork chose 10 lucky finalists from 500 entries, that were up for voting on the website and yesterday evening the winner was announced. Actually winners, the french directors Fred & Annabela who won with entry #10, the best video out of the finalist, hands down; I haven’t seen videos as good as this from actual hired directors.

After a great deal of fuss, surrounding this years MTV Video Music Awards, the nominees were announced at today’s TRL edition, at a startling slow rate. This edition will be a tad different, with a few extra categories added(for all you losers out there) and a shortening of the event, to a mere 2 hours. Leading the, almost traditional, superficial celebrity pack, this year, are Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Rihanna and a lot more. The 2007 MTV Video Music Awards will take place in The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Sunday, September 9, 2007 at 9PM ET/PT. Amongst the bands expected to play there, we remind: Chris Brown, Lily Allen, Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, Kanye West, Amy Winehouse, Foo Fighters and Timbaland. Hope some of those name convince you on actually watching the show, as the bellow nominations may startle, or at worst cause nausea to most of you:

Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony, who co-star in the new movie “El Cantante,” will go on a concert tour together starting next month. They have time to spend together and that is nice to notice.

The 14-date tour will open Sept. 29 in Atlantic City, N.J., and wrap up Nov. 2 in Miami. She will perform songs from her Spanish-language album, “Como Ama una Mujer (How a Woman Loves),” which was mainly produced by Anthony. They are involved in several latino promoting activities and were very active with mtv tres. Hope that is how you type it not sure.

Anthony just released the soundtrack to “El Cantante,” a biopic of salsa legend Hector Lavoe, which opened in theatres last Friday. Anthony, 37, plays Lavoe, a talented but troubled Puerto Rican singer, and Lopez portrays Lavoe’s long-suffering wife, Puchi. Lopez produced the movie. Since they got married in 2004 she managed to find the productivity and latino authenticity she had lacked for some time.

Other stops on the tour, produced by Live Nation, include Uncasville, Conn.; Washington; New York; Chicago; San Jose, Calif.; Los Angeles; Anaheim, Calif.; San Diego; Las Vegas; Dallas; and Houston.
