New Devendra Banhart video: ‘Seahorse’

Devendra BanhartPsych folk poet and singer [tag]Devendra Banhart[/tag], has just posted his newest video, on his likewise new website, called ‘Seahorse‘, from his upcoming ‘Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon‘ LP (September 25). The video is quite long, about 8 minutes, so it might bore some of you, but It wasn’t the case with me, had loads of fun with it. The track’s actually segmented into 2 parts, the first part is a more soft and gentile (as Devendra accustomed us along the years), but after the 2 minute mark it bursts in a more rapid feel-good vibe, with spontaneous marvelous riffs, culminating in the ending with a spectacular guitar solo. The video itself is actually a sort of collages of videos, from what seems a hideout lodge, where Devendra and the band write their songs, jams and chills out. I was particularly surprised when i saw renowned mexican actor Gael García Bernal in the video; guess they’re buddies. All in all it’s a pretty intense song and video, that just makes me wonder how immense this new LP is gonna be. Video first seen at gorillavsbear.net.
