R.E.M. performing various songs live @ La Blogoteque

Alt rock icons R.E.M. have had their share of clumsy release lately, more exactly in the last 10 years since former drummer Bill left the band. Now with their new album Accelerate, the Georgian trio intendeds to get back on the saddle and taste again some of that late ’80s success. After all Accelerate is a return to the roots records, so all odds are in their favor, that is if things didn’t change a…

Bullet awakes the monster

From their recently released `Scream Aim Fire’, Bullet For my Valentine prepares the next single, Waking the Demon. Having thoroughly listened to the album, I doubt this is the best decision they could have made. Inspired from what just may be a teenagers worst nightmare, getting bullied at school, it could just be the hardest song from the album, but it’s by no means the best. But it has a great importance for the band…

Last week was great, with a lot of great new music to listen to, but this week’s even better. First up are the Athenians from R.E.M. and their highly anticipated new record Accelerate, which from the few samples we were privileged to listen to, sounds great and will undoubtedly erase the bad memories from their previous LP Around The Sun. Electronic music veteran and DJ guru, Moby, is also releasing new material, namely his eight…

Speaking in the upcoming May issue of Uncut, the band’s guitarist Jimmy Page admitted that they had a crew that filmed the December 10 show, but confessed there wasn’t any intention whatsoever to convert the footage into a live DVD. “It was recorded, but we didn’t go in with the express purpose of…

In the end it all turns out just to be a directed food fight….

Queen + Paul Rodgers: New Album Details

When I read about this, two ideas slammed into the walls of my brain: “great” and “blasphemy”. I mean, Queen without Freddie is like a party without booze, yet who wouldn’t go to such a gig, even just to hear Brian May do his thing? Now don’t get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against Paul Rodgers… he’s great! But filling the shoes of a man who undoubtely was among the best frontmen in the…
