At last Sunday’s Disney VMA’s Kanye West premiered a new song, performing the new drumline-backed Love Lockdown (stereogum). Now, apparently Kanye’s not only rolling out new songs, but also a new album. No official word has been released by either Kanye or his publicist, but retail sites like Amazon and Target are listing LP4 under the title 808’s & Heartbreak with a release date of 12/16, so this seems as real as it can be….
New Music Monday: 8 September
Muhaha, finally the day has come! The day the new Metallica album, going by the name “Death Magnetic”, has finally surfaced, after never ending anticipation and, well, posts from our behalf. Still haven’t gone around to download grab a copy of the album, but from the first two singles already publicly released, Death Magnetic could end up pretty decent; I mean, definitely better then St. Anger, for Christ’s sake! Austin’s own Okkervil River are also…
Coldplay to release new EP by the end of the year + new LP in ’09
Coldplay have been really busy this year, after recording for a few good months in Spain’s Catalunia what would be their latest record “Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends” and then going out on a huge world tour to support it. However, it seems the grueling recording sessions, with producer Brian Eno, resulted in a lot of excess material; enough even for two albums! Anyway, Chris Martin just announced, while talking on…
Foo Fighters join Metallica on ‘Death Magnetic’ listening party
A few months ago Dave Grohl wrote an open letter to metal gods Metallica, urging them not to ‘release it until it kicks ass!’ Now, with only a few weeks before Death Magnetic hits the shelves, things are getting really tense and Metallica wants to make everybody proud, even the Foo Fighters. So, with this in mind joining Metallica on September 4th for a live Death Magnetic listening party, from the Metallica HQ, will be…

Believe it or not, this is Jack Osbourne. Quite the makeover...
Bjork disses press for sexism
Bjork had some moderate differnces with the press this past weekend, when she reacted to an item in the The Reykjavík Grapevine crediting Valgeir Sigurðsson with writing the arrangements on her 2001 album Vespertine, although this was not the case at all. She took the liberty of correcting the respective article, offering the true full credits of the album and then went on and accuessed the journalists of sexism, not necessarily the Grapevine, but rather…
Arctic Monkeys set to record new album with QOTSA
Alex Turner’s Arctic Monkeys are quite the workaholics, apparently, with a new record every year, or at least that’s what the band makes us think. After the 2006 extraordinary debut, and last year’s “Favorite Worst Nightmare”, the Arctic Monkeys are now preparing to head back to the studio to work on a new album, albeit chances for it getting released in 2008 are very slim. Joining them, however, on the new record is none other…
New Music Monday: 25 August
We had a few weeks of kinda modest releases in the past, but the situation seems to have come back to its normal summer season self, as September’s dawn is about to begin, and with it a bundle of awesome new material. Now, the biggest thing this week is probably the new Verve album. I mean, definitely! The band hasn’t released anything in over 10 years, and, as you might guess, the anticipation has been…
Metallica speaks about Death Magnetic ‘We Could Not Have Made A Better Album’
The new Metallica album is getting hotter and hotter, and it’s just making us more and more interested and frantic about it. After the single, the new video, Cyanide, now we have the words of the masters of puppets themselves, talking about their new release. In the latest issue of Kerrang! magazine, you could read an interview, which is just amazing, at least for me. So tu cut a long story short, here’s what they…
Noel Gallagher speaks about P2P and Internet Piracy
Noel Gallagher, the Oasis lead guitarist, semi-frontman and overall douche-bag, paid Zane Lowe a visit the other day, at the latter’s BBC Radio 1 show which he moderates. There, Noel talked about Jay-Z’s response to the Glastonbury scandel, as he listened to the Oasis dis song Jockin’ Jay-Z for the first time,’ stupid informed journalists who ask him about his latest album being leaked and also rudely jokingly encourages people to rip off other’s people…
