A while back, Beck said he’s planning a new release for this year, but he refused to give further details, other then he’ll be collaborating with a famous producer. According to a recent press release the alleged famous producer, is non other the Danger Mouse and Beck’s, still untitled upcoming album, will get out much sooner then most of us thought, namely in the summer, maybe even in June. Bands to Watch: Jack Rubinacci

Jack Rubinacci is an artist that just recently graced my ears, with his beautiful, soulful music. Half English/Italian, Jack spent a big chuck of his life on the road, traveling from country to country, until he eventually landed in Norway, where he currently lives. His particular experience of life, appreciation for the intellect and sensible character (he likes to think of himself as a true Virgo),  makes his music sounds beautifully eclectic and very lyrically…

Pearl Jam teams up with O’Brien again

That’s right ladies and gents, Pearl Jam has commenced recording another studio effort, which will actually be their ninth studio album. For this purpose they’re working with producer Brendan O’Brien, guitarist Mike McCready told Seattle radio station KISW last Thursday (May 1). Despite the fact that just “four or five” songs are complete so far, McCready said that the band hopes they will be able to release this album in 2008. Aside from Pearl Jam,…

NIN back with a new album: ‘The Slip’

OK, this is getting pretty preposterous. Just a few months ago, Trent Reznor and his Nine Inch Nails, released their latest studio effort, the 36 track long instrumental album Ghosts. The album was released in numerous formats, mostly digital, of which one was free (7 tracks long) and was more or less well received. Now, it seems the band are back with a new album, just a dozen weeks after NIN released their previous record,…

Wanted: Flying Pig

The famous Pink Floyd pig, which nowadays can only be seen live on Roger Waters gigs, has mysteriously disappeared at Coachella on Sunday (April 27). The giant inflatable pig, part of Pink Floyd’s stage show since their 1977 iconic LP “Animals,” simply broke free from its tethers above the Coachella crowd and drifted off. Organisers are offering a $10,000 reward and four festival tickets for life in exchange for Waters’ signature pig, which was seen…

Finally, the trip hop pioneers of Portishead are back with their long awaited third album, suggestively titled “Third”, the band’s first record in 10 years! Chinese Democracy to be released soon… again !

Oh boy, here we go again. I must have heard this 10 times at least, every time from a reliable source or something… This album is getting more and more like UFOs and the moon landing in 1969 – every time you hear about it it sounds less and less true. Especially since their guitarist left to rejoin NIN (no, not Slash…), and the rumors that this album is actually going to be bluegrass ….

New Music Monday: 21 April

Hope you’ve saved some money folks, cause this week’s a definite killer, in terms of new release. We’ve got tons of new music, spearheaded by titan Elvis Costello, closely followed by the British lo-fi rockers Elbow. Another interesting release to pick up is the debut album from The Shadow Puppets, titled The Age Of The Understatement, formed by Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) and MIles Kane (The Rascals). And of course I couldn’t have rapped up…

Noel Gallagher blames rap singers for awful tix sales

Organizers of one of Britain’s best-known music festivals on Tuesday have backed up their decision to keep Jay-Z as the headline, despite the complaints received from several rock stars, “headlined” by Noel Gallagher. The outdoor Glastonbury festival is really important for brits, and well… most just don’t think it’s right to have a rap artist as a headliner. This of course caused the disappointing ticket sales, as it hasn’t sold out yet, contrary to previous…
