Being both a huge Josh Homme and Arctic Monkeys fan, it’s impossible for me not to love this neo-psychedelia bomb. Adventurous and murky, “Crying Lightning” is a brilliant move forward by the monkeys. Oh, yes, this is gonna be a terribly interesting album – the third in the Arctic Monkeys catalog. Not too interesting of a video for Crying Lightning , though. Just the band, with increasing hair issues (somebody should tell Alex Turner the…
Tool’s Lateralus covered in piano/vocals
I know this is as old as the internet, but I just came across it again, while I was into a Tool listening sessions on YouTube, after not seeing it for a very long time. The power, the passion and feeling with which this talented piano player, Adam Monroe, managed to turn Lateralus into a whole new song is simply incredible and definitely worth sharing with anyone, be it you’re seeing it for the first…
New of Montreal video: ‘Mingusings’
The black bodysuit man has now become a motive in its right word for of Montreal, since he’s been making cameos in almost all of their shows. Actually the man in the suit is Kevin Barnes’ brother, David, who from time to time likes to alternate the suit with a satyr-like wardrobe. Seems like David isn’t limiting himself to shows either, as he’s the featured star in of Montreal’s latest video for “Mingusings,”one of my…

Bellow you can stream and download Yo La Tengo’s latest single “Here to Fall,” a very elaborate track, filled with string arrangements and acid groove. [MP3] Yo La Tengo – ‘Here to Fall’ Also,…

Trent Reznor ditches Twitter for good – deletes account
Hailed as one of the most innovative figures, web 2.0-wise (and not only, of course), the highly controversial NIN frontman Trent Reznor deleted his Twitter account recently, on which he was followed by tens of thousands of fans, dying to get a glimpse of the real Trent. Quite the proper word – followers – considering Trent’s fans could easily be considered a cult movement. Some were thrilled by Trent’s use of twitter, while many were…
New Thom Yorke song: ‘The Present Tense’ (live @ Latitude fest)
After last week’s cover of All For The Best, Thom Yorke is back once more, this time with a splendid new song. During his stint at the Suffolk-based Latitude festival Thom premiered the acoustic darling “The Present Tense,” which simply shined among the rest of the Eraser, Radiohead gems. In other related and hilariously sad news, Thom Yorke is reported to have shown interest in contributing to the soundtrack for the upcoming Twilight sequel. “Fortunately,…
Hot Streaming: Pearl Jam – ‘The Fixer’
The first single off Pearl Jam’s new, upcoming album “Backspacer” premiered on the radio waves yesterday and it’s already received an incredible amount of exposure. If you haven’t heard it yet, the single is streamed bellow via YouTube. I for one think it’s an awesome tune! It’s catchy, fun and Eddie is in top notch form. Personally, I’ve had enough of Iraqi wars, politics and gas prices Pearl Jam whining, and The Fixer does well…
Monolith fest final line-up announced [Mars Volta, Yeah, Yeah Yeahs, of Montreal, Phoenix and more!]
A while ago we told you how psyched we were about Monolith Fest’s innovative use of social media by updating the band line-up over twitter each day. Seemed it more or less kinda worked, gaining them a lot of exposure and 1300 followers a twitter. Way to go, guys! Anyway, the weekend at Red Rocks will definitely prove to be an awesome summer end’s road trip for all indie aficionados ’round the US. The final…
New “Weird Al” Yankovic video – ‘Skipper Dan’
Weird Al’s new Divya Srinivasan directed video for “Skipper Dan” doesn’t quite fall in his regular line of visuals or songs for that matter. I mean, the song isn’t parodying anyone particularly, apart from the evident hipster theater grad stereotype, and is actually kinda depressing. The lyrics are anyway, since the song’s really catchy. Check out the story of Dan, the once promising Broadway actor, now only a discontented Disneyland tour guide, right bellow.
