Prince is a general term for a ruler, monarch, or member of a monarch's or former monarch's family, and it is a hereditary title in the nobility of some European states. The feminine equivalent is a princess. The English word derives, via the French word prince, from the Latin noun princeps, from primus (first) + capio (to seize), meaning "the chief, most distinguished, ruler, prince".[1]
Last night, every concrete beam in the massive Madison Square Garden shook as Prince brought his “Welcome 2 America” show to the city of New York, the last leg of his tour. He played every hit marvelously, proving although he’s a megalomaniac, a lunatic or one big asshole, in short, that he’s still the purple [...]
Famous miniature person, Prince, has recently decided that rather than selling his new album, 20Ten (ugh) in shops or online, he would distribute it exclusively through unremarkable British newspaper, The Daily Mirror. When he’s not suing fans, his royal majesty, Prince, actually makes some music. To be honest I pretty much despise Prince for all that [...]
It seems more and more bands are starting to release their material through unconventional and exclusive distribution methods. Only this year there’s been [tag]Paul McCartney[/tag] with his Starbucks Memory Almost Full, the famous [tag]Prince[/tag] Verizon mobile released single “Guitar,” [tag]Eagles[/tag] comeback album “Long Road To Eden” released exclusively in Walmart stores and a lot lot [...]
Looks like [tag]Radiohead[/tag]‘s latest independent approach to album promotion and sales, basically giving away their latest LP for how much you see fit, has sparked a wave a of revolution amongst the influential bands in the industry. Yesterday it was time for Trent Reznor and NIN to join in, after terminating their contract with their [...]
When i first read this post on stereogum i couldn’t help my self and laughed my ass off! It appears that the rock star Sinead O’Conner got in a little verbal and physical altercation with Prince, after she did a cover of the classic Prince song “Nothing Compares 2 U”. Guess who won ? The [...]
