My Bloody Valentine announces 2008 tour + watch Kevin Shields interview

My Bloody Valentine
Most of the rock scene was in shock last week, after the [tag]My Bloody Valentine[/tag] frontman Kevin Shields announced that the band will be reforming and not only that, but will be releasing a new record soon as well. The interview was conducted by Ian Zvenonious, in a really casual manner at a local London pub, as part of‘s Soft Focus series. Head over to the official Soft Focus page and check out the full interview with master Shields, where among others, he discussed about the MBV reunion, the upcoming album, originality and plagiarism, the band’s sound and a lot of other interesting stuff.

Part 1 of the Kevin Shields interview with Ian Zvenonious, the rest is here.

Also, earlier today, the dates for the band’s first live shows in 16 years have been announced. Sadly it’s all too short, only spanning across three gigs in London, Manchester, and Glasgow in the summer of 2008. However there’s a big chance new dates and venues will be announced until then.

June 20: London Roundhouse
June 28: Manchester Apollo
July 2: Glasgow Barrowland
