Lana del Rey – West Coast Source

The official Lana del Rey video for West Coast was released a couple of minutes ago, after Lana’s label posted an unfinished version of the video yesterday which didn’t actually work properly from various reasons.

West Coast is one of the songs from the artist’s upcoming album, Ultraviolence, which will be released this year. For the album, Lana collaborated with Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys. Talking about the recording process of Ultraviolence, Dan said that:

We were only scheduled to do three days, and then she stretched it out to two weeks and we finished a whole record. She’s the real deal.

She impressed me every day. There were moments when she was fighting me. I could sense that maybe she didn’t want to have anybody think she wasn’t in control because I’m sure it’s really hard to be a woman in the music business. So we bumped heads a little bit, but at the end of the day we were dancing to the songs.

About the video, I have to say that it really ended up amazing! It makes me wanna grab a bottle of strong liquor and head on to the beach, dancing and taking a bath. I think it portrays the lyrics perfectly – I love it!
