Metallica and The Stooges among Rock and Roll Half of Fame nominees

News, Rock

Rock and Roll - Hall of FameSometime last year I was pretty pissed off that two world shattering bands like Metallica or The Stooges didn’t make the cut for 2008’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees list. That was a bit non-cool.

Anyway, it seems my lamentations were well heard and both bands, as well as Run-D.M.C., War, Wanda Jackson, Bobby Womack, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Chic, and Jeff Beck were added to the nominee list for 2009’s Half of Fame inductees.

The list of nine iconic artists has been sent to 500 voters, who’s votes will determine to five to get inducted. The results will be made public in January, while the inducting ceremony will be held on April 4th, in Cleveland’s Public Hall.
