New Death Cab for Cutie song penned for new Twilight movie

For some reason or the other, I’ve always found Death Cab for Cutie’s mellow music suitable for soundtracking a vampire love story Hollywood flick. Actually, the association never came to mind but now that I’ve happened to listen to the band’s latest single, especially released for the upcoming New Moon soundtrack, the music seems remarkably suitable. The song, suggestively titled “Meet Me On The Equinox,” hits you from the start with the sense of an chilly full moon light night, an atmosphere of eerie sightings and adventure. Like a glove…
I’m far from being a fan of the Twilight series, but I’m really digging the song, and considering we’ll most likely see artists like Bon Iver and Radiohead on the upcoming soundtrack, we’ll have one hell of a musical score on our hands. how does such a sub-par flick get so many great bands to contribute to the soundtrack…is it $$$?

It escapes me too, my friend, but I’m happy enough knowing the movie’s gonna lead to a tone of interesting new music. Couldn’t care less about the movie
