Grizzly Bear confirmed for New Moon soundtrack

This is getting preposterous. A few days after we talk about the first confirmed track off the soundtrack for the upcoming Twilight movie, “New Moon,” by Death Cab for Cutie, I’m left to find out that one of the most consistent bands of the year, Grizzly Bear, has been also confirmed as part of the musical score. So far, the New Moon soundtrack features music by artists of the likes of Death Cab for Cutie, Grizzly Bear, Thom Yorke, Bon Iver and The Killers, with the full list to be announced tomorrow, according to Alexandra Patsavas, the New Moon music supervisor. From the so far confirmed artists, I’m willing to bet the rest of the list will be in the same indie all star league, which is pretty damn curious, considering last year’s Twilight soundtrack was mostly comprised of alt rock and grungy/hard rock (Muse, Linkin Park, Paramore, Collective Soul).
“This is a much more somber movie than Twilight. There is a lot of love lost, so the artists that are going to make up the soundtrack reflect that longing– a lot of acoustic instruments, a lot of a cappella singing. This soundtrack definitely feels a bit more indie than the last one,” goes on Patsavas, explaining the differences in musical approach.
Like I said, preposterous…

Meh, I can’t help but feel they’re all jumping on the bandwagon.
Obviously the soundtrack is going to sell well but will all these vamps, goths and emos who love Twilight and bands like Paramore really like listening to Grizzly Bear and Thom Yorke?

Fuck.
Grizzly Bear is like the epitome of awesome, to me.
I really hope those Twitards just skip the Grizz songs to listen to their Linkin Park shit.

They will like what the movie tells them to like.

oh get over it people. And Linkin Park had one song on the soundtrack. The rest of the songs were by unknown artists. They were pretty indie and good. So this isnt knew. Again LP only had one damn song and Paramore only two. They were the only weLL known bands!

@David, haha very funny but scarily true.
So if you were Ed Droste would you be happy to have a song on the New Moon Soundtrack which all the Twi-Hards and Twilight Moms (yes, they exist http://www.twilightmoms.com/) skip over?
Maybe I’m being too cynical but I can’t help but think the bands confirmed for the soundtrack way have taken some persuading from their label.
